Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, then sprinkle with lemon zest, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Arrange the asparagus around the salmon on the baking sheet. Dot with butter if using.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Serve immediately, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
